World Wide Photo Walk

Yesterday I was one of 30,000 photographers world wide taking a hike. I joined about two dozen enthusiastic photographers at the Wolf Trap Farm Park in Vienna, VA. Our goal was to spend a couple of hours enjoying the park, making some great images and some new friends. I think we all did that. Over 900 groups of photographers did the same thing all over the world.

I think my favorite image of the day is this photo. This was shot in the same way as the image below, but I added Nik Polaroid Transfer filter to it. I've been on a filter kick lately. You can thank Moose Peterson and Laurie Excell for that. A filter can make a great image (and even those not so great) really pop. I can see this printed on canvas hanging in a hotel lobby somewhere or maybe just in my living room.

This image is similar, but is exactly as shot in the camera. Absolutely no post processing on this image. This technique is the same as the Roman Coliseum shot on my web page but with a much shorter exposure time.

You can find more images from today on my web site http://makeadifferencephotography.com/ or on my new flickr photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/picsbyjan/
