08 Kids on Course

The Childhelp Washington Area Chapter held a very fun and successful event yesterday at the International Country Club in Fairfax, Virginia. The Kids on Course golf tournament was well attended by business leaders from the area including ASG Security, Avalon Bay, BOWA Builders, DBI, Don Beyer Volvo, Gannon, General Dynamics, Grubb & Ellis, Hilton & Somer Esq, HITT Contracting, Lehman Smith & McLeish, M&T Bank, Spartin Planning, Sugar Oak Holdings United Air Temp and Verizon. Former Washington Redskin Ken Harvey showed his support by joining a foursome for a round of golf. Rebecca Cooper of ABC 7 News hosted the dinner and awards ceremony after the golf. She did a masterful job of mixing in the fun of raffles and prizes with the very serious discussion about Childhelp and it's mission in the prevention and treatment of child abuse. ...introducing - make a difference photography

make a difference photography officially launched on May 20, 2008 at the Childhelp Capitol 'Care'aoke event. Reporters from ABC, CNN and FOX joined Senators and Congressmen in singing their support of Childhelp. Held on the rooftop of 101 Constitution in Washington DC, the event raised money and awareness for victims of child abuse and neglect.

make a difference photography was born with the simple concept of offering premier event photography services that served two purposes: providing lasting memories and generating charitable donations. $5 (mad$) from every print sold is donated to charity.

Following the event, images from Capitol 'Care'aoke were posted at: www.makeadifferencephotography.com. Today we sent $105 in mad$ to Childhelp for prints ordered in the month of May.

This is only the beginning of what we hope will become a fixture in the DC area and beyond. Future posts to this blog will provide more details on availabilty, pricing and the distribution of mad$. Please join us in making a difference in the lives of children or whichever charity you support.
